College Admission Scandal (2019)

Song – Timbuk3 ~ “The Future’s So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades)”

Ferrelux Blog Quote: Exercitatio Optimus Es Magister (Practice Is The Best Teacher)

So actresses Felicity Huffman & Lori Laughlin were among the 23 or so privileged parents caught up in this year’s school cheating scandal, and became the butt of jokes all over. Like we don’t know people of privilege actually cheat in life by using their financial power & influence to get ahead. It impacted the less fortunate students who were most deserving to get into those colleges. So many of us back in the day felt we were cheated in some way from great opportunities in like manner. I was lucky to get what I got without a very light skin tone or a whole lot of money. I know the people (even to this day) who I came across in life that were more privileged, felt threatened because I was really the more competent one. When you’re in an honors classroom or prestigious competition and some under-privileged Black person there is outshining your kid, I guess you would need to pay people to socially promote your child because he or she is too slow or dumb. My Alpha-Female career was noticeable since grade school. I was always one of the top children scoring high on exams, athletic stuff, arts& crafts, science projects, etc. I did not need to cheat, especially when you grow up watching The Super Friends, Spiderman & His Amazing Friends, Dungeons & Dragons, Galtar, Conan The Adventurer, G.I. Joe, He-Man, She-Ra, Thundercats, Saber-Rider & The Star Sheriffs, Voltron, Transformers, Robotech, Silver Hawks, Spiral Zone, M.A.S.K, Bionic Six, Jem & the Holograms, C.O.P.S, Bravestarr, The Pirates of Dark Water, Visionaries, Vytor & other relevant cartoons at the time properly training you. So you can imagine as time goes on how upset one would be to discover that mediocrity is what many people prefer. They’re not interested in an actual competent Physician, News Broadcaster, Teacher, Scientist, Financial Analyst, Mechanic, Engineer, Computer Technician, Crime Detective, etc. As soon as you put someone like that around them, there is an agenda to get them out of the place in favor of somebody they feel more comfortable around. And by comfortable, they mean someone they can hang out at a classless bar with, be lewd with, have sex with, carry on like a fool around, and so on. And as soon as something goes wrong in life, they’re looking to put the blame on that person and hurt their career. Well, had you hired the right person to begin with, and kept things professional, there wouldn’t have been a problem. When I hear these cases, I don’t feel sorry for them, I bet you had the right person there at one point, but because so and so couldn’t have his or her way with them or just didn’t like the person, they conspired to get him or her fired or you created a hostile work environment to get the person to leave, compromising their right to make a living. Some of you may have experienced that, I know I have. So back to this school cheating scandal, that’s how people’s lives get affected when you’re not very rich, and we ‘the less fortunate’ GET EXCITED when they get caught & exposed. LIKE YOU, there were opportunities I was denied even though I qualified (to this day) because someone wanted to let prejudice get in the way. So what do people like us do? We get off the scene, quietly build & grow, get involved in some unorthodox things, privately operate underground like Punk & Heavy Metal Music with our team & audience around it, biding our time, then re-surface like GODZILLA, out of nowhere being this competitive threat stomping around your global commercial neighborhood. We have all our shit together, we aren’t going away, we figured out their weaknesses already and we’re operating like a fucking Hydra from Greek mythology; you broke off one arm of the movement, BUT, it grows back Motherfucker! And we’re Renegades running our own shit, we don’t give a fuck about joining your corporate recruitment program. So when YOU are getting passed over, remember, you’re probably the more competent ones & you should be talking to another REJECT like yourself. Remember we’re the Bad Guys to THEM. They’re the Ones with the ruling empire and all the wealth, power & protection. And like those cartoons from our era, YOU figure out a plan to undermine your foe anticipating all the moves they might make that you can counter, launch YOUR attack successfully like Lotor and his alien fleet moving in on Planet Aris with the ominous theme music behind you & claim your rightful place when the time comes. Don’t worry about those people. They’re incompetent living an easy life and will not know how to stop you. WHY??? Well, you just neutralized their hero/heroine. And many of them would not know how to recognize a corporate take-over, a neighborhood hijack, political racial & cultural manipulation, or other espionage warfare. Many of this stuff is happening right now and some of the ‘wrong people’ are in your political arena already. Are Right Wing people uncomfortable with someone named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)? What about Tiffany Caban, who is still in court contesting Melinda Katz for the political seat. Another villain name Espaillat (pronounced, Es-Pie-Yot) is also flexing his Hispanic power, while familiar villains like Cory Booker, Kamala Harris & the like are rising in stature. And I’m being comical to make a point because when you are a lily White person, with an under-trained, under-prepared kid due to YOU keep buying favors, you’re a BAD parent. That poor child, is going to be so besieged with issues at a time in life when simply having the right critical judgment skills, the ability to change and enact a new plan on the spur of the moment, choosing the right allies, being confident & just knowing how to do something without depending on anyone, would have made all the difference. That’s why that African-American, Hispanic, or White-Ethnic (Italian, Jew, or other Eastern/Asiatic Indo-Saxon) is seeing your Blond-haired Blue-eyed, Prince or Princess up on the economic throne in an Anglo-Saxon Corporate Paradise, living in that lush neighborhood & is wondering WOW, how the fuck do I get that despite all the prejudices that they already built in this society working against me, WELL..….., because I’m an Outcast and have little or nothing to work with, I have all the time to sit and think, and I’m seeing your weaknesses, petty squabbles, the hypocrisy, hidden enemies, your short-comings, and the incompetence. Wow, you’re unprepared, your people used to be smarter atleast 50 years ago when you still kept to a standard. Now you have all kinds of WEIRDOS wanting a piece of the American pie. So if I make a move over here, your dumb ass wouldn’t realize it’s all a part of a BIGGER chess game for me that about 8 moves later, you realize it too late and I’m in the motherfucking Castle Greyskull, with all my Villains around me, getting rid of The Sorceress, & taking over the space, because the place looks more like I should occupy it and all its power and NOT YOU. And I can live out my life with all my evil theme music playing throughout the land for the kids watching the television program to see. And oh, unlike the cartoon, we’re dealing with reality, I won’t be making a stupid move for YOU to come back! So what do you think is going on out here with foreign people you’re politically fighting overseas, taking over your corporate landmarks and driving you out of business? You don’t think both actions are related??? Well, maybe if you had the right worker, even just functioning as a Temp in your company, I might have suggested that to you. So back to the case at hand with Actresses Felicity Huffman, Lori Laughlin, & all, is that a big enough crime to send them to jail for many years……., some think so, BUT that’s not a crime like murder. The only thing you can argue is that they took away another child’s chance at hope. Let’s say they never got caught,…….the crime extends to interfering with someone’s fate & destiny; had some poor child got selected fair & square to get into Harvard or Yale, then he or she could have excelled a certain way in Society & THEY robbed him/her of that, so the kid is doomed to a regular life where things may not work out so well. Furthermore, none of it was necessary. Those rich kids did not need the education. They already MADE IT just inheriting wealth & status. Going to an Ivy League School is just upper society stuff that works better if the child is already smart & talented. I don’t feel sorry for them getting caught. They should have done better. Personally, I felt passed over a few times in my life & cheated from opportunities I deserved & I blame the immoral people behind it & a stupid selection process that didn’t function right. The only gratifying thing as I went through life is on occasion being in the same place with some of these Ivy League Retards, and being ‘The One’ people are seeing as smarter, more capable, driven, strategic, versatile, resilient, trustworthy, creative, able to think-out-the-box, able to function off minimal capital & able to manufacture something from nothing, having come from a very different background and way of life. Over the course of my 40+ year old life THEN, despite all the government cuts to the enrichment outreach programs available at the time for kids, I still managed to win writing competitions from 4th grade on, be a teen journalist in my high school not only writing for our newspaper but also writing for a well-known adolescent newsmagazine that is still in print. I also landed a coveted paid-internship writing for a major newspaper while a junior in high school. I won scholarships. Again, I wrote for college newspapers. I helped write press releases for books when I worked at a publishing company. I performed executive administrative duties at major companies working for significant people learning all kinds of stuff. During my time of being a Corporate Consultant working with Attorneys, & Tech Firms, I later moved into finance, handling million dollar accounts for Fortune 500 companies while being a college student graduating at the top of my class, earning a BA in English Literature & an MA in Teaching. I went on to teaching 1st graders to college-level students for a while at different schools. I have other talent & skillsets too from being involved in a diverse education process and my continual intake of information veering on academic research, religious studies, philosophy, language, politics, criminal analysis, sociology. Aside from all the technical stuff in my life, I’ve always maintained other talents along the way like drawing, playing instruments, singing, modeling, & acting. So now ‘the struggle’ continues, where I’m engrossed these days in my very own entertainment & cyberspace projects embarking on being the next big thing. So my advice to people is don’t buy success or cheat like those people did. Deal with the challenges, navigate past the difficulties, keep believing in yourself and do what you do well and make something of it.

The Raptors Win (2019)

Song – Kurtis Blow ~ ‘Basketball’

Optimis Optimus ~||~ The Best Of The Best (Ferrelux Blog Quote, 6/21/2019)

‘Let’s go Raptors!’ as the chant goes. When people were expecting Golden State Warriors to win from before the game even started, I predicted The Raptors, and I was right……I was right. My Reptilians should have won in game 5 in their home stadium in Canada, but made the callous mistake of not using a play in their favor instead, and The Warriors caught up the score and won by 1 point. I got nervous! My boys still won in game 6 of course. It was a great set of games. OMG! The best of the best players going at it point after point. If Kevin Durant (The Warriors) didn’t get injured again and played in game 6, we would have see a game 7. Remember in game 5, Durant, scored 11 points in the space of 12 minutes for the Warriors while playing injured against the wishes of his Doctors. The omens were in the favor of the Raptors though, especially with that movie, ‘Godzilla’ out. I’m proud of both teams. The Golden State Warriors have nothing to be ashamed of. They did everything in their power to retain their title championship with the typical cheating, trying to pull a fast one, and just playing nasty, but The Toronto Raptors were prepared for it. The Warriors, even at the last minute when the Raptors won, they called a technicality hoping the player didn’t make the shot in the basket again, but he did, and re-won for the team.
So Canada now holds the Basketball Titleship and plans on retaining it for a long time.

Avengers: Endgame (2019) (Review/Spoiler)

Song – Led Zeppelin’s ~ ‘Battle of Evermore’

Ferrum Homo, Vindex Quis Moritur ~||~ Iron Man, The Avenger Who Dies

Awh Man! I’ve got huge spoilers here. I believe I waited long enough to really say what I want, so if you didn’t see the film by now, turn away. Let me start by honoring the late great Stan Lee, who we still see a cameo appearance of in the film. His mind was so great in coming up with these Marvel characters. Okay so, personally, I preferred the first part of this 2-part movie; ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ was way better. For me, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ turned out to be what I hoped not to happen. When you set up a mythic problem because you outthought yourself, it becomes a monumental challenge to rethink something plausible. What do I mean, well……. they had setup a big conundrum where Thanos got all the Infinity Stones and now had the kind of power that would make him unstoppable. So we’re thinking about scenarios that might work to defeat him, and after I saw this film, I liked other peoples’ ideas better including my own. While people were busy thinking The Avengers were the only ones that could stop him, I was considering other notable heroes in The Marvel Universe. It would be an entirely different movie if you involved the X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc. since what Thanos did would affect them as well. Of course, there is a mystery being in The Universe people forgot about called The Beyonder, that would have seen the whole thing coming and could single-handedly stop it or just make an event of it using the noblest heroes, him already knowing how it would all end. Plus, I thought as much that the Writers, would need to scale down the might of Thanks’ character in a way so they can defeat him. None of it came off believable to me. The movie came off like how you would expect a corny good guy come-back. If you have all that power, I don’t think you would want to give it up. We are led to believe that Thanos had to destroy the stones to so that he saves himself from being destroyed by them, plus by destroying them, he and all he did prior is inevitable. Well, what’s wrong with this is that he absorbed the jolt of power originally being a Demi-god and was fine using it many times well into the film that our heroes have a way of clocking the last time he used the stones and can pinpoint where in the galaxy he is. So we see a humble looking Thanos living his hobbit-like life until The Avengers crash into him and Thor finally does what he failed to do the first time, aiming for his head. Big deal! Later we see the Mighty Thor being a potbelly, beer drinking couch potato bum. Thanos should not have ended like that. He’s supposed to be on his throne chillin’, but this is good guy must win nonsense when the first time around when it mattered they failed miserably. When the film opened with Iron Man and the camera focused too long on him, all up in his face with the emotional shots, I said to myself, ‘oh no, are you really going to make this about him’. Well, in the first film, Thanos tried to kill him successfully until Doctor Strange gave up his Infinity Stone to save his life. Now you can debate in your mind at what point with which stone or stones Thanos had at any given point of both movies, but for me, while watching the film, and thinking of the movie days after, I still have problems with it. THANOS, SHOULD NOT HAVE LOST! He had all the information to stop them at any point. He would have to voluntarily give up his power for the greater good, and we know that wouldn’t make sense for him. So as I watched this bullshit, I cringed. A quirk of fate, makes it possible for Antman, who was trapped in a storage unit, to escape and come up with the idea of going back in time the way he does, using quark nano-technology. So the Incredible Hulk uses his scientific brain to put together a time machine. Iron Man, who already has a new married family life he does not want to lose, eventually falls sway to the rest of the team to try to stop Thanos in the past. And we are to believe that they are able to do what the greatest scientific minds have been unable to do by precisely creating a time machine on such short notice to end up at precise moments in history and return to the present time safely. Well, even if they were such geniuses, Thanos, being able to see all future scenarios as well, would have seen that coming. The Writers only allowed a little mistake in there where no matter how smart the superheroes were, they neglected to think that a super android was dangerous to send back into the past because anything could go wrong. Nebula got captured and Thanos learned about the time stamp events from the future. Right there, the whole thing should have got shut down with just the couple stones he had, but here, he’s thinking like someone without the power playing games. This allowed Gamora and the future Nebula to teamup. We see a lot of female heroic action until Captain Marvel got punched in her face by Thanos. So to cut a long story short, the one move to save them all was Iron Man offering his life in that epic battle. He got the gauntlet off Thanos and did his own Infinity snap bringing back Black Panther (Ebombeh!), and other previously dead heroes. Then he used the power to get rid of Thanos and his dark legions. Listen man, Thanos did the decimation snap better. Like the Infinity Stones he so-called destroyed, the nano-particles are still in the universe, so you can’t completely eradicate evil. Then we see the funeral of Iron Man, his mortal body being destroyed by the power, and a briefcase filing away of the time machine technology. Ofcouse, Captain America was going to use it to have a romantic life with Agent Carter, why not, it was his only chance. And he gave away his super-action name to a Black guy to be the new Captain America. Hmmm, I would have preferred he had his own super identity. Iron Man didn’t have to die. This idea is coming from a concept of a sacrificed hero, well, it was possible to have done the whole thing where no one needed to die. The movie could have been done better. I remember the reaction the first time around at the end of Part 1 with movie-goers being sad and awe-struck at the end but in wonder and excitement to see Part 2. Now that we got the cookie-cut good-guy ending, the intrigue doesn’t feel the same. It was lacking something; that once and for all tone. If by any chance, I would like to see Thanos and Friends resurrect. Let’s have a proper battle. One with an outcome we can all agree with.

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) Queen Movie Review

Ne Cede Malis, Sed Contra Audientior
Do Not Yield To Misfortunes, But Go Forth More Boldly To Meet Them (Virgil)
PLAYLIST ~ Music By Queen

Ofcourse somebody would want to make a film about the late great Freddie Mercury. I had mixed feelings over it. ALOT of the info in the movie and timeline is false. It’s a piece of fictional work designed to convey what they wanted you to know about him and the band and there experiences. Well, for something more factual, go look at the many documentaries and interviews online. For the film, they tried very hard to make the Egyptian actor Rami Malek, look, sound and act like him. The real Freddie was a physically bigger man and his striking actions and majestic persona are hard capture. I wasn’t entirely convinced of the performance and I don’t know why Rami Malek was chosen, I was more impressed at the actor’s work at the end of the film when he really came alive on stage as Freddie Mercury at the Live Aid concert. Yes, I expected it to win ALOT of awards, because of some elements in the film, even though critics like myself didn’t fancy it much. At the time when I saw the movie, I wasn’t really happy with it to go write a rave review, but as I continue to think about this man and his work, I have to say something. Prior to the film, the music of Queen for years were in movies, TV shows & commercials, and now AFTER the film, it’s still everywhere arguably as the band with the most hits heard in ads. Now this is a testament to their greatness, the mass commercial appeal as of late. There was a time in my development where Queen was one of the rock bands, I designated a moment of my life consistently listening to. The man was a musical genius. I felt the film focused too much on the gay shit. Some of the dialogue consisted of cheesy faggot comments that made Freddie looked like he was some Rupaul Drag person, when in reality, he carried himself more like a man. He was never out there in the public eye talking like that, seeming like that, or carrying himself like that. In reality, he was masculine, that was why when he died at age 45 in the early 1990s, it shocked people when we heard he lost his life due to complications with AIDs. I remember, it saddened me as a teenager back then the way the news of it was suddenly delivered over the airwaves. I missed him. He died too early. And now, so many years later in the current heyday of the flamboyant gay rights movement, they go and make a movie using HIM & his life to be a part of the gay agenda. If you study Queen, you’d know that Freddie himself when he lived, had no interest in being a point person for the gay movement or a Spokesperson on AIDs. He was a private man who was more mindful about HIS MUSIC. I’d think if you were going to do a movie about him, you’d more concentrate on his musical genius and things that really mattered to him. His lyrics hold philosophical content. He’s a Composer, right up there with Mozart, Bach, etc. Looking at the first half of the film was making me visibly upset with them focusing on homosexuality as if that was the main thing about his life, when other people around him at the time, can account for aspects of his personality being non-gay. In reality, heterosexuality was something he valued that the movie could not deny and had to show in some way since there was a woman he was romantically involved with, that he still loved till the end of his life and he left a great deal of his fortune to her even though she married and moved on. Something happened to Freddie as a young Indian boy born in Zanzibar/Tanzania when his family moved there to flee the Uprising in India. Then he developed as a person in England. We may never know the missing info, but there might be clues out there in cyberspace and alternative media. The movie could have been done better without the gay politics. Now we have content Millennials misunderstanding some things about his life and art as we go on as a society. He’s now a Gay Icon. Oh God! He was never seen as that before though. Nor decades before now, was he dug up and embraced as one of them, even at the time he lived. Some people say he was openly gay at the time, but there is evidence suggesting otherwise. Also, homosexuality (Buggery) was still seen as a crime in Britain in the 1960s. To many Americans & others around the globe, it was either a mental problem, or a vice you engaged in and some of us still think so. And for some, cross-dressing was a look you adopted or played around with, but it didn’t mean you were actually gay or lesbian, or something. And people eventually realized if you were or not. If he was privately exploring or finding himself because of some personal issue and I saw that, I wouldn’t make a film depicting that as the central theme of his life. It was more a gay movie, than an real biopic. There was so much more beyond that and what he never got to do in life. I don’t know how he himself would feel about this film they made about his life. I know though, he would have composed a better film about his story.

CREED II (Review)

Iuvenis Bellator – Young Warrior
(Ferrelux Quote, 3/8/2019)

I liked it. I held off from doing this story right after I saw the film because I wanted to see if it would win an Academy Award so I can include that too in my article, BUT, ‘The Oscars’ snubbed even nominating the movie. I
don’t know why. They deserved attention. I thought the storyline was well written, & had some of the 80s Rocky charm. The film however was appreciated elsewhere and won other awards. Now, some guys thought it was a girl movie, & that it didn’t live up to Creed I, but they’re forgetting the evolvement of The Rocky franchise. You need to show the softer side of a tough guy. This happened with The Rocky movies, and now Creed. Here you had a boxer and his girlfriend committing their relationship further, and then a tragedy happens. History sort of repeats itself when like his father, Apollo Creed, Adonis gets his ass kicked by Viktor Drago to near death, but the referee, who I bet admired his Father’s greatness, stopped the fight leaving Adonis still with his rights to the championship belt intact. When Ivan Drago left Russia with his son Viktor, the agenda was to place Russia back on the map in the boxing world, through his son defeating Rocky’s protégé since Rocky defeated Ivan decades ago in his own homeland. Ofcourse, Rocky was trying to get Adonis to avoid this murderous challenge, barely surviving the onslaught himself back in the day avenging his dead friend Apollo in the movie ‘Rocky IV’, but Adonis could not shun destiny. And so we see a failed Adonis, eventually getting the help he needed from his father-like Coach, Rocky, training out there in God knows where, to gain the strength & skill he needed to withstand Viktor, because his dad trained him to be a killer in the ring. Also, he has a very injured casualty, his daughter, from womb trauma, was born deaf when her mom was in the arena watching in great pain as Adonis endured a vicious beat down by Viktor in the first fight. So we’re dealing with the need to win for vengeance & being the greater fighter. So, yeah, he won the second time around with even the opposing Fight Promoter himself applauding Creed on his victory. It was a great American moment as Russia lost again & Creed also winning the applause & respect of many of the Russians in the crowd. Viktor didn’t expect it, saved by his father telling them to stop the fight. He later consoled his son. At the end of the movie, they still train. What I especially loved towards the end, was Adonis going over to his fathers grave transmitting thoughts as he looked down at it with the famous signature stare of his dad, Apollo Creed.

Aquaman 2018 (Review/Spoiler)

Symbolically released in the I Winter Solstice 12/21/2018, I could not help looking at the Movie Aquaman, without thinking about the Marvel Comics character, The Sub-Mariner (Namor Mckenzie), known by his catch phrase, ‘Imperius Rex’ Latin for Powerful King/Imperial Ruler. He was FIRST in the comic universe in 1938 & Aquaman came about in 1941, with a very similar storyline to Sub-Mariner’s. I like them both, as in a way, they are suppose to be the same guy, BUT if I had to choose one universe, I’d go with Namor, not Arthur. Contrary to the disrespect from comedian & TV night show host, Jimmy Kimmel, using his platform to insult Sub-Mariner, Namor is indeed MORE significant, technically being more powerful than Aquaman, had he bothered to do the research. Kimmel’s only right about one thing, Sub-Mariner apparently have been forgotten about for Marvel films.

Now the Movie, first of all, Jason Mamoa was believable in the part. Long before his casting for something like this, I always thought he would be a good pick back in the day for TV movies or shows like ‘Hercules’,
& ‘Xena’, playing somebody significant & now looky here…….The only thing wrong at times were the corny one-liners in the script. I always liked Aquaman and am glad somebody thought enough of him too to give
the guy a complete movie. Aside from Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman, he was one of a few DC heroes I found intriguing & mighty growing up viewing ‘The Super Friends’ animation series in all its variations, just like the Marvel Comics. Now, DC Comics was FIRST, but Stan Lee’s Marvel Universe took over the medium so people followed after them. They have way more going on, BUT, I’m proud of DC Comics for hanging in there over the decades with all the Superman & Batman stuff in film & on TV, with the recent millennial Wonder Woman film
& now this latest, Aquaman. The Aquarian make-up/costumes for all the characters were done well. And thecharming storyline was like being led into a nice child-like lullaby as we watch Arthur also experiencing it as he
grows up later realizing it all to be true & his destiny is well within grasp.

Now,….I like villains too. Let’s get that started. I loved the way Black Manta looked in the film, the mystery & power of his presence. I liked him ALOT in the cartoons too & felt that this time around in the film’s debut, he should have been a bit more successful against Aquaman if he’s supposed to be his arch-nemesis. You can’t just prevail slapping him around like that. There are many times in the DC World, Black Manta outsmarts The Semi-Atlantean, getting him in a bind & someone from The Super Powers Team has to rescue him. So I hope if there are sequels to the film, we see that.

And now…… the pure-bred Atlantean heir to the throne, our villain, Ocean Master, ….. what can I say. He had a point. You should want to keep things correct. You just knew how things were going to go with the good wins over evil stuff. That guy was doing the right thing as he was entitled to, but as always, some one, or force works against it. I don’t think he was really a bad guy, and in all reality, given his rights & power should have won & had everyone supporting him, BUT as fate would have it, a half-breed dwelling on The Surface, must be The King & he is quietly being helped by Vulko, who’s character was played superbly well by Veteran actor Willem Dafoe . Yes, so Ocean Master beats Aquaman the first time in the challenge as expected, but Aquaman’s comeback in the end was impressive. And you could see it was destiny to be The Ruler with the Mighty Trident and all.

My only fault with the film was not enough colored Atlanteans in the sea, as that historically & culturally would have made more sense since they’re messing with mythology too. I’d Iike to see in the future some reference to The God Poseidon/Neptune. I mean, really. The movie for me, touched a piece of the pagan past that some of us are so familiar with that it’s not just a film, but a harbinger for what to expect.

Avengers: Infinity War (Movie Review)

Song – Megadeth ~ ‘Symphony of Destruction’

Oh my! When this movie was released back in April of this year, I couldn’t wait to see it. After that, like everybody else who knows better, I had to contain myself from spilling the secret of what happened so others can enjoy the movie without spoilers. So I concentrated on writing other meaningful blogs that mattered in the world for my followers, until this time to share my views on the film.

Like the movie ‘Black Panther’ it was an experience. Okay! Thanos won. YES, the villain won. Had the Creators of the film left it with the original title, ‘Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1′ it would have been obvious. People were so mad/disappointed in the theater, even the after credit scenes where we see Thanos’ power eliminating anticipated enemies. There are so many spoof videos I keep tripping over on Youtube, with opinions about how the film should have ended, to making fun of it outright & I bet this will STILL go on till we see the next Avengers movie, because the content, like ‘Black Panther’ leaves one with a lot to think & talk about.

Oh where do I start. I’m going to be all over the place with this. Some people prefer to see the movie as a simple comic form come to life with an entertaining storyline. Many films though, tend to have other meaning behind it, so if you are into conspiracy, supernatural stuff, then one can see the movie in those terms. First off, you will have to decide whether our villain, Thanos had his head chakra open already with the possession of 1 infinity stone at the start of the film, or whether his head chakra opened after he possessed the other 5. He’s a giant alien being form the planet Titan seeking to be a god. Now……in biblical times there were giants on the Earth brought about through the copulation of Angels & Humans. Their offspring were called Nephilim. The bible said they were great in the land, ruling over humans. Archaeologists have found evidence of the biblical story being true in the form of skeletons, writings, & stone imagery but our society today don’t bring it up much in any of the  mainstream media. So with Thanos, I got the sense that he was lacking something, lost something, or cut off from something. In the Marvel comics world, he was not someone I followed since I had other favorites including these three: The Mandarin (who battles Iron Man & The Avengers at times) & Galactus (who “owns” the Silver Surfer as his Herald), & Apocalypse (who battles the X-Men) all of whom Thanos should remind you of. Now, I loved watching his progress as he intelligently & relentlessly went around the Universe getting those stones. He had a competent team dedicated to helping him. I particularly liked Ebony Maw, that ugly gray alien with all the powers who’s a member of the Black Order. He was soooo effective until he got frozen drifting in space. I hope he’s brought back in action in Part 2. The dude had a mission that was personal & did not allow Superheroes to stand in his way. While the good guys were making jokes about nonsense, standing there deliberating shit, Thanos was thinking about quickly acquiring POWER. And while the Superheroes were talking shit, joking around the galaxy, imminent galactic domination was happening all around them & they didn’t have the collective power to stop it.

Now let’s look at the 6 infinity stones……..Time, Power, Mind, Reality, Space, & Soul. The object was to gather them one by one for his gauntlet. Thanos was already in possession of one of them. He certainly had the power as this imposing giant tore apart worlds to get what he wanted, acquiring another stone & then another increasing his near-god power. His successful team, some of them coming from young persons he would save from the planets he went around destroying whom he’d father. One of those children turned out to be Gamora. Who made valiant attempts to stop him, but with that kind of universal power, it became an impossibility. She ended up losing her life because if you think about it, she’s an enemy now to HIM, so sacrificing her for the soul stone made sense.

We see a pivotal moment of the film where the last great battle ends up being in Wakanda, where the Black Panther & all his united tribal warriors are out there with him shouting something that sounds like ‘Evonpeh’ or ‘Ebombeh’ as some war cry & them repeating it. You would think at this point in the film, the good guys would win with all those powerful Superheroes working towards defeating Thanos. Instead we see, the giant catch Black Panther as he leaped up on him & his giant fist punched the side of Black Panthers head & he fell.  Oh well…….on a side note, had a previous enemy of the ‘Black Panther’ in that movie, Eric Killmonger, succeeded, he would have been the leader, probably an ally to Thanos & Wakanda would have been spared being casualties of the war. Nobody else on the battlefield was able to stop Thanos as he eventually battled the Marvel Comics hero, Vision for the last stone. Well, I didn’t expect him to win, he was already failing & the Scarlet Witch could only do so much. I blame 2 Marvel heroes for this: Doctor Strange & The Might Thor. It didn’t need to go that far. Before, Doctor Strange & Iron Man were battling him. It could have been stopped there had Doctor Strange set aside his stupid moral ethic of never using the Time stone for fear of the theory of absolute power corrupts abosolutely or some other do-gooder philosophy BECAUSE in a situation like that, he wold have been wiser to compromise his code for the GREATER GOOD. Now……There is a scene in the film where Doctor Strange did use the time stone to see the ONE opportunity to defeat Thanos. I still say, why all the deaths & time wasting. Why even let it get there. Just use the stone & stop the WHOLE  damn thing. Even if he waited through virtue of his own conscience, to bring people BACK, you’re still using the same power. At the end of the film, I blame Thor because he made a MIGHTY leap up in the air with his godly hammer & struck Thanos in the chest (heart) & thought that would work. Well…Thanos smirked & remarked ‘you should have struck the head’. That should have made more sense to Thor as Thanos was coming into his last god-like power. When someone can control time & reality and you successfully defeated him once, you won’t get a second time to do so. They were not thinking. That was Gamora’s problem the first time. So now, Thanos, anticipates future problems & decides to get rid of ANYBODY now that will pose a threat including Spiderman, Black Panther, Groot, etc. We are left with whoever he doesn’t feel threatened by like, Rocket The Racoon, Iron Man, The Hulk, Shuri & the other Black Panther women along with M’baku & his tribe & others. So what now, with other people in the Marvel Universe removed from the scene like Nick Fury, who was trying to send off a signal to someone at the end credits of the film, maybe The Fantastic 4 or X-Men, so in the next film we get to see what happens, like does The Incredible Hulk ever get his act together to fight Thanos. He was having annoying comic relief problems throughout the movie.  For now, we see an accomplished giant still ruling the planet Titan, using his powers to maintain a universal balance who sits on his armed throne, delighting in seeing the sunrise. I don’t know what the next film will bring, but I do expect a heroic victory.

I, Tonya (2017 Film)

I, Tonya……..now on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS). The 2017 Movie, ‘I Tonya’ was great & the subject matter is relatable played by award-winning actresses Margot Robbie (Tonya) & Allison Janney (The Mother). Looking back at the time period of this story, I was in my graduating year in High School & Nancy Kerrigan was the skater almost everyone was rooting for….., but side opinions count. Some people liked Tonya & her hardship all the way to The Olympics representing America as well. It was fucked up what happened to her career. There are people that can relate to her story. Not everyone fits a mold for certain industries. Does this mean that you CAN’T compete? She was breaking a lot of rules. She didn’t let poverty get in the way, nor having the standard Ice Princess look or breeding hamper her chance at success & fame. And for THAT, she was punished. She was a victim of prejudice amongst HER OWN people. They loved Nancy Kerrigan. The dark-haired beauty could do no wrong. She had the judges in her favor even if she made a mistake on the ice, as long as it was not too bad, her marks were still high. Oh well…..you poor blond bitch, we don’t care about your scrapper way of getting here to our ivy league sport, you don’t belong & we don’t like you, so we’re gonna score you a little bit lower even though you were the ONLY American Woman to land the Triple Axel in 1991 in our International sport. THAT was the general attitude that poor child had to deal with even though she had A RIGHT to be there representing not only The U.S.A, but the downtrodden & disenfranchised rest of us. THEN IT ALL WENT WRONG ONE FATEFUL DAY. The asshole/loser she married to get away from her loud-mouth & funny, but abusive mother, couldn’t leave the skating politics alone & conspired with his friend to have a cohort go to where Nancy Kerrigan was practicing & whack her on the knee, where she famously screamed out, “WHY!” It injured her ability to do well in general, in an effort for Tonya to win Olympic gold ofcourse. There are those despite the old news reports & trial in the mid to late 90s, & now the current movie 23 years later partly told from Tonya’s perspective, who still doubt her innocence. The case was federally investigated & Tonya got banned professionally from the sport & competing nationally & internationally. So now for the first time ever in public, we’re seeing her at 47 years old (still able to land a triple axel while ice-skating privately) on the TV show ‘Dancing With The Stars’ competing for the Mirabal trophy along other respected athletes. But going back to that tragic event from the past, arguably the attack on Nancy Kerrigan was not necessary at all, since Tonya WAS the better skater if you look back at the old footage. The real problem here was the skating committee/judges who discriminated against her for being poor & rock n’ roll. She liked skating to heavy metal music, she looked like a hard rock chic in her outfits & I was into that stuff too & thought at the time watching her on TV, how refreshing to see someone different out there on the ice. Nancy Kerrigan was nice skating to the classical/contemporary themes, but she looked too much like the cookie-cut standard model with how she was carefully packaged. And the people in charge of the whole thing who could have made a difference, were too ignorant & blind to that. THEY are the real ones responsible, because had Tonya been treated more fairly,…..none of it would have happened.
