Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) Queen Movie Review

Ne Cede Malis, Sed Contra Audientior
Do Not Yield To Misfortunes, But Go Forth More Boldly To Meet Them (Virgil)
PLAYLIST ~ Music By Queen

Ofcourse somebody would want to make a film about the late great Freddie Mercury. I had mixed feelings over it. ALOT of the info in the movie and timeline is false. It’s a piece of fictional work designed to convey what they wanted you to know about him and the band and there experiences. Well, for something more factual, go look at the many documentaries and interviews online. For the film, they tried very hard to make the Egyptian actor Rami Malek, look, sound and act like him. The real Freddie was a physically bigger man and his striking actions and majestic persona are hard capture. I wasn’t entirely convinced of the performance and I don’t know why Rami Malek was chosen, I was more impressed at the actor’s work at the end of the film when he really came alive on stage as Freddie Mercury at the Live Aid concert. Yes, I expected it to win ALOT of awards, because of some elements in the film, even though critics like myself didn’t fancy it much. At the time when I saw the movie, I wasn’t really happy with it to go write a rave review, but as I continue to think about this man and his work, I have to say something. Prior to the film, the music of Queen for years were in movies, TV shows & commercials, and now AFTER the film, it’s still everywhere arguably as the band with the most hits heard in ads. Now this is a testament to their greatness, the mass commercial appeal as of late. There was a time in my development where Queen was one of the rock bands, I designated a moment of my life consistently listening to. The man was a musical genius. I felt the film focused too much on the gay shit. Some of the dialogue consisted of cheesy faggot comments that made Freddie looked like he was some Rupaul Drag person, when in reality, he carried himself more like a man. He was never out there in the public eye talking like that, seeming like that, or carrying himself like that. In reality, he was masculine, that was why when he died at age 45 in the early 1990s, it shocked people when we heard he lost his life due to complications with AIDs. I remember, it saddened me as a teenager back then the way the news of it was suddenly delivered over the airwaves. I missed him. He died too early. And now, so many years later in the current heyday of the flamboyant gay rights movement, they go and make a movie using HIM & his life to be a part of the gay agenda. If you study Queen, you’d know that Freddie himself when he lived, had no interest in being a point person for the gay movement or a Spokesperson on AIDs. He was a private man who was more mindful about HIS MUSIC. I’d think if you were going to do a movie about him, you’d more concentrate on his musical genius and things that really mattered to him. His lyrics hold philosophical content. He’s a Composer, right up there with Mozart, Bach, etc. Looking at the first half of the film was making me visibly upset with them focusing on homosexuality as if that was the main thing about his life, when other people around him at the time, can account for aspects of his personality being non-gay. In reality, heterosexuality was something he valued that the movie could not deny and had to show in some way since there was a woman he was romantically involved with, that he still loved till the end of his life and he left a great deal of his fortune to her even though she married and moved on. Something happened to Freddie as a young Indian boy born in Zanzibar/Tanzania when his family moved there to flee the Uprising in India. Then he developed as a person in England. We may never know the missing info, but there might be clues out there in cyberspace and alternative media. The movie could have been done better without the gay politics. Now we have content Millennials misunderstanding some things about his life and art as we go on as a society. He’s now a Gay Icon. Oh God! He was never seen as that before though. Nor decades before now, was he dug up and embraced as one of them, even at the time he lived. Some people say he was openly gay at the time, but there is evidence suggesting otherwise. Also, homosexuality (Buggery) was still seen as a crime in Britain in the 1960s. To many Americans & others around the globe, it was either a mental problem, or a vice you engaged in and some of us still think so. And for some, cross-dressing was a look you adopted or played around with, but it didn’t mean you were actually gay or lesbian, or something. And people eventually realized if you were or not. If he was privately exploring or finding himself because of some personal issue and I saw that, I wouldn’t make a film depicting that as the central theme of his life. It was more a gay movie, than an real biopic. There was so much more beyond that and what he never got to do in life. I don’t know how he himself would feel about this film they made about his life. I know though, he would have composed a better film about his story.

Lucifer TV Show Cancelled

Oh My God! I’m GLAD they cancelled that shit! REALLY!
It had NOTHING to do with the REAL Lucifer/Satan, and by nothing, I mean authenticity.
When the Christians learned about this show being created to put on TV & protested, their hysteria
was off why The Fox Network would disregard them & still put it on TV, but they were right in a way; it’s misleading. Now some lay-person not knowing
The Bible, & only having loose concepts about The Devil can be easily misguided by the show.
I was watching the shit because of the subject matter being The god himself & was appalled at the callous way his intricate story was being handled.
There are some fans of the show still complaining but can now see Season 4 on Netlix since they approved it, but it is nowhere on mainstream TV anymore & they can’t seem to get it. It’s not an accurate portrayal of The Devil, other works of fiction in the past were WAY better. It wasn’t stupid, gay, or off topic. Even though those satanic works current, decades past, & centuries old, depicted a fabrication of Lucifer, it was still believable enough to embrace as truth. Now this show, failed to do that miserably. In my younger days, hanging out at my favorite comic places in the city, I came across the Lucifer comic, read a few & I didn’t like it. I still feel the same way many years later. Even with some of the changes the Producers made with some of the characters & storyline for TV, it still felt WHACK! The whole thing would have been better had the show just been about a normal guy; take out the whole dimensional thing about Heaven & Hell and a fallen angel. The screenplay would have read better like a normal show about him, his life and the pursuit of a girl. Why invoke a Lucifer concept over that & complex it with God and a strange host of characters harassing him. Was that necessary?
Other TV shows are able to survive currently with simpler storylines. And what made it worse was The Gay Agenda. Did they really have to make the character bi-sexual? How crazy? You’re talking about a biblical character that your show borrowed from scriptures, & you must impose gay stuff on it. The only time you see gay activity in the bible concerning angels was when Lot invited 2 handsome strangers into his home that God sent on a mission, who were angels that he protected from the men of the village who wanted them for sex. And God ultimately destroyed their cities, Sodom & Gomorrah, only saving Lot & his 2 daughters. Now that story is not for someone to go twist & morph into a morbid concept to impose on divine creatures, trying to see THEM gay. How sick! And I’m not thrilled about the guy chosen to play Lucifer. He’s goofy looking at times when he turns his head here, and there, he looks common & only at rare times he actually looks attractive. I appreciate that they didn’t make him blond like the comic. Now that Devil face they made for him looked dumb. The circle of people they had around him made no sense either. So the idea was the King of Hell, no longer wants his God-given job & he escapes responsibilities to live on Earth in the city of Los Angeles, as a rich playboy. How unoriginal. Then we see a character falling off the rails at times needing a shrink to help him sort his life out. Really! A divine being with an infinite scope of reality would not need a lower being’s help in telling him what to do. The writers spent a lot of time trying to trivialize a serious religious subject into a stupid comedy in a most irresponsible way. Now I get the idea that the work was NOT based on the reality of SATAN, but why even bother using a word like LUCIFER for your book or TV show? When you make a grand SPLASH like that, people expect better. Now those who liked the show I notice are the Millenials, persons that are not religious & those who don’t know better retweeting, up on Youtube endorsing the shit, & so forth. People like myself that favor Satan in his correct light weren’t seeing the show as a great thing. It didn’t accomplish anything. The most you got was me maybe retweeting a concept concerning the show, like #SaveLucifer (not the show), BUT his significance & value, and some of the poster artwork were cool too. All the original writers of the comic had to do was invent a brand new concept for their fabricated character & call him something different. Now, the cast of friends, a therapist & cops. Is it likely that he would end up with those types of people around him regularly? It would surprise you what he might actually end up doing living on the Earth. When you have a misconception of who people are, this often happens. If they had a show writing Jesus in a certain unflattering way, like the Christians, that would upset me too. Stay true to the theology. There are hateful perceptions out there with people trying to see him gay, perverting his relationship with Disciples. When you keep watching a show to see where it goes, the level of insanity becomes apparent to you. No proper direction, morals, or agenda to make it have a subtenant meaning.
