The 2020 Race To The Presidency

“A Piece of the Pie” – Randy Newman

Ut Optimus Victor Candidatum 📜 May The Best Candidate Win

I wanted to cover this story from early September, commenting on the Republican & Democratic Conventions but it got postponed due to covering the surprising death of ‘Black Panther’ Star Chadwick Boseman, and the death of Ronald Bell from ‘Kool & The Gang’ and also the death of guitarist Eddie Van Halen, amidst other things happening in Current Events. So I decided to lump all that political stuff in this one post.

Okay so now, a few things have happened. Feminist Icon Helen Reddy, the singer famous for her iconic 1975 song “I Am Woman”, passed away on September 29th 2020 at age 78. Another Womens Liberation Icon, Ruth Bader Ginsberg died 11 days before on September 18th 2020 at age 87. But I would not refer to her as RBG, because I know better. That acronym means something in The Black Community, The Red, Black & Green African-American Flag and also in its Confederate version. And what it stands for, doesn’t exactly match her. Although she was a modern Pioneer for Womens Rights at the time using the Judicial System, it went into seeking Gay Rights, mixing one political movement with another amidst a conflicting Black Culture where the Indigenous Belief System on certain things are still currently infiltrated and under attack. It’s a shame when a bonafide movement gets hijacked by another culture using if to promote their own wanton problems.

ON ANOTHER NOTE,
where the current race for President is concerned, Joe Biden was not the Candidate I expected to take the Democratic Lead. I wanted Michael Avenatti. I think if you’re President Trump, and a good chunk of Americans want you out of Office, it’s better to lose to someone good, than potentially get booted out of Office by some “lame” Politician. I mean come on man, I expected better from you, or at least an Advisor in your camp. I wanted to see a fight. The People got robbed from a Main Event. Avenatti had the momentum, the look, the confidence, the attitude, the skill, the Lawyership, and so forth. A real Candidate, The Democrats so badly needed. A Fighter. Then an ugly act of jealousy and malice was orchestrated to eliminate him from being a threat. He should never had been convicted over that Nike shit in the Southern District of New York Courthouse, and him still having to fight another difficult case in California. On the surface the charges all looks bad, but when you scrutinize the alleged crimes he supposedly committed, one can see strong signs of a contrived Conspiracy; and there are laws still on the books validating Avenatti’s activities on both Coast at the time, which were not criminal. He’s not a ‘Con-Artist’ or ‘Creepy Porn Lawyer’. He’s a Good Man: Talented, Scholarly, enjoys life among things, and cares about The American People. I always say leave a person or thing alone. Wouldn’t it be better if you’d let Avenatti ran amidst the other 20+ Candidates and let the chips fall where they may. You don’t know for a fact IF he would have made it as the Head Democratic Nominee, but Somebody was scared he would. I guess when they saw his potential for the win well before The Kickoffs, a notorious team effort was put forth to bind up his ability to move politically by setting him up. Oh, and it’s provable; all the earmarks are there. The whole thing looks like how you’d expect it to look. Much of the Naïve Public already bought into the Media Blitz ran by Republican Trump Supporters, to make sure you see and hear exactly what THEY want you to know about Avenatti without you having any suspicion or doubt. Meanwhile, if these people were all back in Grade School, Junior or High School, they’d see it clear as day. All the childish shenanigans is there. This one, does not like that one; and since I have the money and the power, I’m going to do the spoilt thing and get you off The Political Scene. Boy, you all really disappointed me. What I expected Trump to do was face-off against Avenatti. You fighting Joe Biden is stupid. I guess you thought beating him would be easier, BUT he’s a former Vice President and if People want you out of Power, they don’t care if Joe might be a bit slow or what, they’ll vote him in because he has a VP & other Constituents to help. It don’t look good for you because you said ‘Obama pulled Biden out of the trash heap’, and made other humorous disparaging comments. So as a Leader, you should want to fight someone more worthy like Michael Avenatti, unless you were SCARED! If you’ve got a loud mouth, and HE’S got a loud mouth, then America was cheated from viewing a real Title Fight. Back in The 80s when America was great, you would have known that. It was an era when YOU were great. And now being the current heavyweight reigning Champion, defending your Presidency in the political ring, you don’t go up against a slow elderly boxer who was out there training others, you fight that young mean Italian making his name in the Political Boxing World. That’s what people would pay money to see. You hurt yourself when you play a card too soon in the game only to lose later. If your democratically elect opponent turned out to be Avenatti, you go along with it, save what you know to use to attack him later publicly, then possibly hold on to The Presidency by a slight marginal win if The People were bothered by the accusations of his past Clients or any new scandal arising, but your Team got him off The Scene and under-estimated Joe Biden not realizing that he was still the next best bet even though he was seen by some as an unlikely Top Contender in the race since he was over-shadowed by bigger Personalities running. What if you lose the 2020 Election to Joe Biden, maybe by a landslide? How would you feel? It would look much better had The Candidate who beat you was Michael Avenatti. WHY? Remember your show ‘The Apprentice’ and how certain people looked during the process? At home viewing the show, people had in mind who should go back to The Fantasy Suite, who should go home that episode, or WIN in the end, but if that did not happen, at least the person lost to somebody good. Now, let’s say you victor over Joe Biden by some chance, okay, you won but it does not carry the same feel of a true victory. WHY? There’s a great school of People, who believe that you cheat, and you mis-use your power in ways to ensure success for yourself. You’ve been accused of collusion with Russia; the legitimacy of your Presidency came under question, and even when you escaped ‘The Mueller Report’ and other trials, your true redemption would have been to ride the lightening and bet on yourself, not sacrificing your better judgment and show people that you can meet a threat to your Presidency face to face and battle a worthy Democratic Opponent, empowered by the depths of his own being as a warrior ascending to new heights. YOU and your TRUMPIRE contending against this one Romantic Hero The People wanted. It would be a contest no different from ‘The Apprentice’ where the final episode of The Season featured 2 Great Candidates people are excited about vying to be HIRED by The American People. You’re now out there in the history textbooks for 2020 fighting Joe Biden, a guy you say is washed-up and so on, potentially beating you because YOU let some fake legal shit wrap around a nice Italian guy you didn’t like name Michael Avenatti. REALLY? Okay…….let’s take a step back. You had to fire A LOT of people you hired when you won The White House, who did an imperfect job and failed you. That’s Typical. So you didn’t get anybody effective enough like a Michael Avenatti to work with you who was Republican and had some sense, to help you. So then you hated on him for being an effective Democrat at the time, a thorn in your side helping THEM instead, as he did since College, working on numerous Campaigns. That shouldn’t have bothered you though. There’s a time when events shape up a certain way in life and you shouldn’t be offended. Simply showing that weakness at times for a discerning eye to read, opens up all kinds of interpretations. For the HYPE, you would have been better off up on The Big Screen fighting Attorney Michael Avenatti. The exciting news broadcast, the print media, the ratings, the Commentators, and so on; it would have been EPIC. Even if it all happened through the Covid-19 Restrictions, it would have popped-off better than the tame choreographed conventions and debates. On the Democratic side, Michelle Obama made some effective points in her stinging comments against you and Bernie Sanders certainly said what he had to say. A few other Speakers did well also. On the Republican side, Melania spoke really well and Donald Trump Jr., effectively presented his message, as did a couple other Speakers. Because you may have The Power to throw someone’s life off-track doesn’t mean you should capriciously use it. Exercising wisdom and weighing the odds can sometimes work better in your favor. People support you still. The Republican Party still maintains a standard that Conservative people respect, while The Democrats have suddenly become a Gay Party, naïve to a foreign infiltration and attempted take-over, highly liberal wanton values, and so forth. A lot of people privately agree with you and your efforts at restoring order even if it comes off a way. Some of the things you said and did made sense if some of your enemies would look at it fairly. Likewise, people favored “The Newcomer” Michael Avenatti and what he had to bring to The Nation, and if he was doing well in the polls, then said or did something a person or group questioned, then it would present an opportunity for you to relate to Voters a certain way instead of cramping up at the challenge and getting goons in The Judicial System to promptly remove him from your sight. So now instead of a viable foe, you got ahmm, a Nominee you say is The Loch Ness Monster that have been lurking around Washington for many years, and how ineffective he is. Well…….he got the Former 44th President Barack Obama, and former Prosecutor turned Senator and now his chosen VP Kamala Harris, and a lot of other significant People supporting him. They already turned over their campaign money to him and were out there campaigning on his behalf. Him winning The Election brings back that Obama Ring again instead of a completely new person. So if you got voted out of Office, YOU should have chosen your Successor right. It was easy. Michael Avenatti has been compared to you by some people with their own negative analogies, but I disagree with all that because some common experiences with another don’t entirely make you like them. If I were to entertain the idea in any way, I’d more shape it in this context as if YOU were contending against a make-believe younger version of yourself just coming up. Avenatti should have been allowed to continue as he was with his luxury cars, airplanes, companies, real estate and whatever and we would get to see which version of a person in time is best suited to lead NOW, but as a nation we got robbed from viewing the results of that social science project. Michael Avenatti had already terminated his Campaign due to (your) unforeseen attacks coming out from nowhere affecting his personal life. But I bet your Camp thought THAT was not enough, since Avenatti’s influence alone would boost Democrats with him out there supporting another Candidate, which he did by endorsing Joe Biden, even allowing him to use his campaign slogan. And THAT bothered you? An outright low-ball attack on his integrity and career by your Camp, was so ignorant. The treachery, far greater than what an actual guilty White-Collar Criminal ever did over the years. You all know damn well that the attack on his character with the negative media propaganda, the well-targeted social manipulations, the financial and legal attacks, the orchestrated setups and all the contrived charges are all bogus. His profile don’t fit the Crimes, and Ya’ll went too far. The charges on both Coast should have been DROPPED! You had already fulfilled what you wanted to not have let it gone on that far. You felt threatened by your own imagination, imbuing something about him that didn’t even get a chance to exist yet. When you start to attack persons of your own Social Class in that manner, you set a bad precedent. You crossed a line. How would you like your Peers crossing that fine line too, oblivious to your inalienable rights and decide to use people and circumstances to manipulate certain things a certain way in an extreme effort to criminalize you? And before you say it happened with those Federal Investigations, I’ll point out that as messy as that was, they honored the privileges your status offered and you were still respected and treated fairly. Your case was heard and you remained Our President. So many people wanted YOU off The Scene and were all over the airwaves talking smack and waiting for your demise. With all those heavy treasonous incriminating charges, you weren’t under-siege by S.W.A.T at the White House, taking you by force into custody, your Oval Office ransacked with them looking for shit and seizing your belongings, YOU on trial getting stripped of your Presidency and Convicted. You didn’t end up in a wartime jail with hardened Criminals, eating a cold stale meal to survive another day, living in a shithole cell with guards harassing you, them seeing you use the toilet and shower naked, and your general safety in The Pen at risk or suffering in solitary confinement, while depleting all your wealth to obtain the best legal help, remaining Indigent under imposed financial and internet restrictions designed to keep you from being able to adequately defend your case in Court. NO, you were treated NICE for someone who’s alleged “crimes” were much greater than Michael Avenatti’s. What a shame you couldn’t return that same democratic favor. As soon as you were found not guilty of any wrongdoing at that Hearing, with the Mueller Report and so forth, gee look, Michael Avenatti got snatched up the next day after, by “Your Rigged System” on some Trumped Up Charges pathetically trying to make him look like an Ivy League Mobster in the case, with the weight of The United States behind it, and you’re having him tried in The Ronald Reagan (Make America Great Again) Courthouse. Goddamn! And he was not even The One responsible for all those initial investigations against you, because you certainly could not have done that with any of the real people behind it. He was just a guy out there in The Democratic Community, Kennedy-like with his Iowa Wingding Convention Speech, and The People liked him. A Hero. He was building himself nicely and well on his way to realizing a dream, and you had to go and short-change yourself from receiving the better boon in history of possibly having faith in yourself that just by chance, if it came down to that one state for the win, you probably could have beaten a great opponent fair and square even if it were just by 7 narrow votes (also on the recount) casted by the hand of your beloved family.

Kobe Bryant: Black Mamba, R.I.P

“To Live & Die In L.A.” – Makaveli (Tupac Amaru Shakur/2Pac)

Quid Magna InfortuniiWhat A Great Misfortune

On Sunday, January 26th 2020, we hear for the New Year that Legendary Basketball Player Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianni Bryant, & 7 others died in a helicopter crash in the hills of Calabasas, California. And of course this comes as a SHOCK to everyone. In my GoodReads section of the site, in prior weeks I featured books about his success, & one he created, a young adult fantasy fiction worth reading called, ‘Legacy & The Queen.’ Like many of you, I too have been dealing with his sudden death. He was one of my favorite Basketball Players. Over the years growing up with him (in a way) from a TV perspective, being 3 years older, looking at his face & his wild antics on the court with the way he moved & the tongue flicking, & that face, I thought to myself, he reminds me of a snake, you know like the villain Kobra-Khan from the original animated ‘He-Man’. And LO & BEHOLD, he was out there proudly calling himself the Black Mamba, a snake of Southern Africa related to the Cobra, but without the hood, with a certain survival mentality in which Kobe incorporated in his work ethic & his technique for playing. When you know yourself & what you identify with, putting stuff like that out there is easy. You see, I’m a Serpent too. His career started in High School being a phenomenal player why at 17 the NBA wanted him. He also had excellent grades. He could have gone straight to college on Scholarships, then joined the NBA later, but opted to JUMP at the opportunity & work on earning his college degree part-time in Summer School instead, and that turned out to be a good choice. Kobe enjoyed a very successful 20 year Pro-Basketball Career, bringing home Olympic Gold for America & retiring at age 38. He’s described as a great Father of 4. The media projects he was working on won significant awards & those children books he was writing made an impact. He also cared about The Homeless in his philanthropic missions to help them. At 41 years old he passed too soon. There are still trying to find out what happened as new reports come in. Just on face value with the initial news reporting, I would figure a skilled pilot of a helicopter should know whether to fly that day or not, so if he chose to, from his perspective the trip was possible, especially if the skies were clear at the time. When you see A LOT of fog & have flown in conditions like that before, then you know how to navigate a craft. Some pilots chose not to risk flying that day though. From the footage on the news with what we see as the chopper flying around, he could have been looking for a safe place to land. When witnesses are saying they saw the chopper flying dangerously low like a free fall, the pilot may have somehow LOST control of his craft due to something interfering & was struggling to regain it. I don’t think he would have willingly free falled. Also, I don’t know why a trained pilot who haven’t had any flight issues before, would trust using an ill-equipped helicopter since The News reported that he lacked life-saving navigational equipment on board. Maybe before the flight, there was tampering of some sort with the vehicle or controls. We’re now hearing the 911 calls that were released to the press, BUT the 2 are from persons on the ground calling about an impending crash. What about the people on board? Wouldn’t they be calling someone too in a panic if they saw they were about to crash. I know with similar crashes we hear about there is that last phone call to a loved one or cops for help. So what is really going on hear? This is where some of you can get into some conspiracy theories about his sudden death, or sacrifice rather, because it’s suspicious, then again it could just be an unfortunate accident. I mean, you can speculate anything. The helicopter does not have a Black Box. The company who made the helicopter is now halting further production & use of their chopper due to perceived faults with it. Well, that pilot have used that same manufactured craft before with no known reported issues. The latest info out there in The News, depending on who’s broadcast network you mind, there was ANOTHER helicopter flying around at the same time & they’re looking for that pilot to ask him some questions. Well, this is fodder for some curious theories. There is no reason for Kobe, Gianni, & the 7 other victims to be dead right now. They were heading to a young women’s school basketball game where his daughter played. The idea that a wealthy, mentally ill secret elite group in Hollywood got together & decided to orchestrate a way to take him out that day hours before The Grammy, to fulfill a cult offering to a mystery god for a divine favor at an event or something is not only sick, but should strike you as a wickedness to condemn. People’s lives are not yours to play God over, deciding at any damn time whether they should have something or not. That whole Sacrifice thing in Hollywood has been exposed multiple times by many Youtubers. It’s up to you whether you believe that stuff or not, but the arguments are too compelling to ignore. You can’t keep having numerical & other interesting coincidences like that in each case story. And the subtle public clues in hindsight leading up to a tragedy are there, because someone usually knows beforehand. With a practice like that, let me say, FIRST OF ALL, human sacrifices aren’t even necessary to appease those Deities. You do so in error. Well versed practitioners of The Occult are more sophisticated in the art of dealing with certain Entities without vulgar practices. So these people getting their kicks picking off unsuspecting persons thinking they are impressing some god, will learn that same Entity has its own karmic conundrum in store for YOU because it knows The Laws of the Universe better than you do why something ill-fated keeps affecting your future surviving generations for example. It’s the unwitting price you paid just to have a fleeting one-lifetime experience of wealth. And anybody trying to be famous thinking & feeling like they have to bend to The Will of those people controlling Hollywood and all, my advice to you is to value the things that are not Corporal, which they have no control over: Time, Space, Reality, etc. These are things they cannot make. And just holding strong, struggling on your own with dignity may be arduous, but the power in doing so makes you a contending force they can’t control. It’s okay if you’re not as famous as who they just radically socially promote overnight; be content you’re not their slave. You still have a free will & divine freedom. Success comes on its own time. Falling prey to them is a much greater loss giving away your Consciousness & when you realize it & try to get out or break away, or expose something of theirs, it could mean your reputation being damaged, losing something or someone important to you, or YOUR LIFE as we’ve seen with certain Celebrities. You’re dealing with barbaric people here and them commercializing your legacy for profit. I’m not sure entirely what Kobe’s situation was in regards to any of that, but to the Ones responsible for the deaths, in The End there’ll be a Reckoning to account for the life you’ve lived. They did nothing to you to deserve that. You took away persons that will be very missed by their loved ones. Now, they can’t return to their daily lives. Among them, a young lady’s dreams of becoming a revered female basketball player making her Jersey number famous. The University of Connecticut (Uconn) honored Gianni Bryant in their women’s league ceremony calling her Mambacita (Little Mamba), she one day wanted to play for them. Now all we have of her is the #2 Jersey she wore in life in the making which people are celebrating. And of course, The Lakers, forever honoring Kobe Bryant. They cancelled the game they were supposed to play days after his death only to resume schedule playing Friday January 31st. Kobe is survived by his Wife Vanessa & 3 daughters. He left an indelible mark on the game he loved playing, & making history with 2 retired Jerseys in the NBA, numbers 8 & 24. Watching you play at court not only inspires up & coming basketball players, but the Mamba Mentality has infused itself into the minds of those now discovering & emulating that method into their lives as you spoke it. You will be missed. Kobe Bryant, Black Mamba, Rest In Power. MAMBA OUT!

Kaepernick’s NFL Workout Fiasco

 Eric B & Rakim ~ “I Ain’t No Joke”

Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere 🤾🏽‍♀️ 🤾🏾‍♂️ We Dare To Defend Our Rights

It was a disaster for the NFL, not him. So here’s what happened since we last left off with Kap. While the NFL tries to repair its image back to the heydays by getting 2 top Hispanic Singers, Shakira & J.Lo to sign on as performers despite other top performers who’re mainly Black refusing to because of the whole ‘side with Kap’ thing, to attempt to resolve it, they reach out to Colin Kaepernick. The NFL wanted the Workout to be held in a controlled environment of their choosing where the media will learn what they chose to disclose, but being a Conscious Brother, Kap wanted the venue to be more public so the people can see what’s going on. They should have never reached out to him! If there are still some grievances, that was a mistake. It wasn’t negotiated properly. I’m with Kap. After hearing the shit, he was right. At first, listening to the news account, the real info didn’t get out right why it sounded like Kap was a no show until the cameras got on him to explain what happened. It was a set up! A Black Idiot ESPN Commentator, Stephen Smith, always had something negative to say about Kaepernick, and he jumped on it the day before the Workout saying to Kap through the camera & pointing his finger, “You better show up.” Well he did, but the event created more problems than solutions. Had they just left Kap alone, it would have been better. What’s really going on here is that they don’t want him back. It’s like Fuck You Kap, you first took a knee on August 14th 2016, then got others to take it with you & ruined our brand, you sued, we paid you, now move the fuck on, get lost, go play with another league, but the public agrees with you that you should have your job back with us since we’re a GIANT football league here in the United States, having not worked in 3 years & you want to play ball. And he proved he was still fit & ready to play at the Workout. To be fair here, this whole conflict could have been avoided from the very beginning had some legally thinking person, left him the fuck alone. You see him there taking the knee refusing to recite the National anthem, just make a quick positive press remark about it and play ball. The NFL later on letting their blood boil, creating a big stink around it due to mounting political pressure from Trump, caused it to escalate to a valid movement. Ignore his Black Ass, get your press people on a side note to articulate some encouraging social change argument to explain his protest on YOUR football field and protect your brand. Nobody would have cared much had they kept everything else about the game, merchandise, & the half-time show. And stop focusing the cameras on him too much, it’s fodder for a trouble-making press person. The problem would have went away with the right grace & tactic. Is the NFL responsible for police brutality? No, but Kap used their platform to make a point. Was that fair to them? No, but it happened. So now we’re here. Their response could have been better. Addressing the issue in a sensitive manner since a lot of their players, about 90% are Black, would have been smart. A carefully worded ad playing on the airwaves supporting the political consciousness of your players would have softened any Right-Wing aggression coming against it to understand, though the games are meant to bring people together, we should strive to continue to repair the problems that divide us. The NFL missed an opportunity to be a proponent for change, when back in the 1980s ya’ll would have dealt with the topic wiser like the WWF, (now the WWE) & G.L.O.W (the original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling). They had all kinds of diverse wrestlers & were smart to recognize their power in presenting forward thinking THEN on socio-political topics. If you couldn’t do that, then simply funding certain philanthropic projects in poor communities to help improve their daily lives would have been looked on as heartwarming since many of your players came out of there. But instead, after a number of days, the leaders of the NFL decided to attack Kap. Oh shut him up, remove him and let’s play ball, and life will carry on as usual, but a topic like Police Brutality can’t be removed from the table like that. You have a bunch of ‘Niggers’ playing ball for your league earning trillions of dollars for you and you can’t just dismiss their right to take a stand on a relevant topic. There was ample time for somebody to have delicately handle issues like that. I agree it shouldn’t be the elephant in the room when you take your family out to have a good time, but Kap was the player it emotionally affected the most to take a knee and NOT salute the flag, and no one in the administrative level was apparently equipped to discuss a proper method in dealing with it. Most problems can be diffused with the right person managing it. The NFL thought that person was Jay-Z but he drew criticism for some remarks that it’s time Kap move on from taking a knee and NOW some people are blaming Jay-Z for pushing the whole Workout event hoping it would turn out well, but simply offering him his rightful place back into the NFL would have wiser. So the ball is still in Kaepernick’s court. The NFL has not made any new motion towards Kaepernick since then. We’ll see if the Superbowl does well this year with the performances, since its last great success was with Lady Gaga before the Kaepernick controversy, and if ever their struggle with him gets resolved the right way. Anyway, you can enjoy more of Colin Kaepernick since the Workout incident now that sports gear giant NIKE released a new sneaker in honor of him.

Colin Kaepernick: Nike, The NFL & Jay-Z

Marvin Gaye ~ “What’s Going On”

Genua Obstrepentes Quia Nigrum Certamen  🙅🏾‍♂️  I Kneel In Protest For The Black Struggle

You know the name and the controversy. I knew not jumping on this particular story on the onset of his movement, would yield more for me to cover after we’ve seen the shit play out over the airwaves from last year till now. Who is this Hispanic-looking Brother with an Irish name? Colin Kaepernick is the bi-racial child of a blond-haired blue-eyed Mother & African-American Father and he’s a football athlete who plays for the San Francisco 49ers. With the on-going police brutality against “Black” Men & Women everywhere in America, him taking it upon himself making a striking political statement at NFL games by taking a knee during the singing of the American anthem, is in the praise-worthy spirit of deceased Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This move drew angry criticism from a segment of the population that were “White” (racist or not) who didn’t think the NFL was the right platform to protest urban bigotry & that it showed disrespect to the flag and The Nation. Well…. Other attacks on the issue has been done before by Newscasters, Youtubers, The Common Person on the street, etc. Kaepernick is the only Football Player to put a spotlight on the problem by using the Sports Industry. The only other pivotal moment in history was the 1968 Olympics when 1st & 3rd place medalists, (Tommie Smith, Gold & John Carlos, Bronze) dark-skinned track & field athletes playing for the United States, went on the Olympic stand proudly wearing there medals, through up the Black Power fist during the American anthem for the World to see protesting in the struggle for the same racist persecutions going on at the time in America where The Black Panthers took a political stand opposing the Governments treatment of us. Admidst those medalists was the solitary 2nd place winner from Australia, Silver-Medalist, Peter Norman. People don’t know much of him, since he’s not the primary focus in that iconic photo, but he too as a “White Man” was involved in the protest in his humble way, because he decided to wear the Olympic Project for Human Rights (OPHR) badge in support which was contoversial, and ofcourse even though he was already a medalist, Australia didn’t use him again because of it for the next Olympics, but he’s also noted in history for taken that stand at the time. America punished the 2 Black athletes too expelling them from the team. The 3 athletes kept in touch with each other in life re-creating the historic pose as old men. Australia later repented declaring a Peter Norman day. When he died, the 2 surviving Black athletes carried his coffin. Why the protest at the time? THEY had to, and Kaepernick had to, the police brutality, etc. When you’re “BLACK” and you’re living it everyday, something is wrong if you’re not protesting in some way. Yes, the move drew anger from President Trump and Kap got fired. He filed a lawsuit against the NFL because after all, it IS his Constitutional right to make an expression like that. The suit yielded some pay, but not to great satisfaction, he did not get his job back. So as time went on, Sports giant Nike, entered the fray embracing Kap, and that move upset those same people who don’t like what he did. Nike stocks dropped for a while, but they kept Kaepernick & he looked and sounded great in those print and televised ads. Soon, the minds of people changed back in favor of Nike & the sales happened. And as we went on again in life, another change happened where recently Rapper Jay-Z made the comment that ‘it’s time to move beyond kneeling’ and this drew much criticism. It was taken as a diss, but the comment is subject to interpretation. Do we keep marching & kneeling as an oppressed people? That’s how many movements start before it gets physical. What he did was effective enough to draw attention to the issue. Kaepernick’s motives have been criticized by some who feel he’s just looking for attention, he wasn’t a great enough athlete and they were going to cut him, so he did that move as a tactic. Well, that’s all speculation. He got fired anyway, the point is, he inspired other NFL players to take the knee with him and The Brother, showed where he stands politically, rocking his fro. So what now? Well….., the NFL has Jay-Z with them as a part Owner and some see that as a betrayal, but Jay-Z is another strong Black Brother who declared he wants Kaepernick re-hired. Whether he has the power or not to make that happen remains to be seen, the point is, they are trying to clear up a problem. The NFL has seen a steady decline over the years in ratings & interest. They’ve lost their heyday. Just trying to pick the right Halftime performer to hold the audience & hope everything goes right is a daunting task. When they chose Adam Levine last time, Cardi B, like Rihanna stood with Kap and chose not to perform the song they did together, ‘A Girl Like You’. Adam Levine & his band Maroon 5, should NOT have taken the job, but he thought the controversy was good for him, not realizing he was further exposing himself. Months before that on ‘The Voice’, he fucked over DeAndre Nico, a strong soulful Black Contender on his team for some lesser singer (Reagan Strange), a young white female he knew personally, who was nearly voted off the prior week, who got voted off the competition the next week BECAUSE, America didn’t like that, and the fiasco was all over social media . So HIM, opposing Kap, and doing a lame performance at the Half-time show, also hurt the NFL. Until they properly solve this issue with Kap, their general approval will continue to drop.
